Calvin Huang

Chief Financial Officer

Calvin grew up in Los Angeles, CA, where his interest in science first developed in his first-grade classroom. In high school, he was fortunate enough to develop a close relationship with his biology teacher, who helped foster his growth as student scientist. This was when he realized the impact that teachers had as role models and support systems for students and developing youths. Upon entering college, Calvin learned more about different social disparities and lack of educational opportunities that many underrepresented communities face every day. As a member of Project SCIFI, he hopes to continue to create meaningful change and reduce the educational inequality gap by providing current students with the same resources that helped him find his own passions. He has volunteered as a student teacher with Bay Area Scientists in Schools, teaching second graders science using hands-on activities developed by him and co-teachers.

Calvin graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2019 and is studying to become a Physician Assistant. Eventually, he also plans to become involved with health and education policy on a state and national level.
