Christina Badal
TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE
Christina was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and attended the University of California, Berkeley for her undergraduate studies, where she then graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Christina knew from an early age that medicine and serving others were her two passions. She has worked as a Medical Scribe part of UCLA Health for two years and has experience working in Hematology & Oncology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatric Allergy & Immunology, and Internal Medicine. She is currently a prospective Physician Assistant candidate and intends on incorporating the sociological principles she has studied into her own medical practice by viewing her patients as dynamic individuals and reflecting on how biological and social factors interplay to impact health outcomes.
She plans to provide patient-centered care to medically disadvantaged regions and is looking forward to treating patients with diverse backgrounds. Christina is currently planning to specialize in Internal Medicine and Women’s Health, but she is also passionate about breast oncology and enjoys keeping up with the promising research within the field. As a member of Project SCIFI, Christina is most looking forward to utilizing her unique experiences to contribute to the mission of the organization and using her role to help diminish socioeconomic disparities in academia. She believes every young student deserves a remarkable STEM experience—one that will offer tremendous knowledge and will provide students the inspiration to continue pursuing interest in these fields.
