Hyunsoo Choi

Hyunsoo grew up in El Centro, a city located on the border between Mexico and California. She is currently a first-year undergraduate student at the University of California, Berkeley, intending to major in Public Health. In the midst of a global pandemic, she and her high school friends recognized that both misinformation and the lack of information were rampant, especially in cities with low resources and funding like El Centro. This is why she joined the Imperial Valley Covid Movement (IVCM) so that accurate information about vaccines, clinics, and symptoms could be relayed to the public in a timely manner through social media platforms. She is currently working as the IVCM research chair to help create accurate health-related infographics for the public. In her free time, Hyunsoo loves to bake desserts and go walking on scenic trails.
