SCHOLASTIC ASSOCIATE
Isa grew up in San Diego, but has family in Palo Alto and feels at home in the Peninsula as well. She developed an interest in science in middle school, and the education she received in San Diego allowed her passion for STEM to thrive while she pursued opportunities such as conducting research in a molecular neurobiology laboratory at the Salk Institute of Biological Sciences. Through interning at Scripps La Jolla Hospital and tutoring in high school, she has been exposed to many kids in need of additional educational resources. During her time at Project SCIFI she hopes to help as many students and faculty members as possible so that they can receive the same opportunities that she was lucky enough to receive in her hometown. Currently, Isa is a sophomore at the University of California, Berkeley pursuing a double major in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Neurobiology and Sociology, and aspires to become a neurosurgeon. In her free time she likes to watch various sports, especially baseball, football, and basketball; she is a huge San Francisco Giants fan.
